Lorna Skal

Hi y’all, My name is Lorna Skal. I am co owner and a coach at CrossFit Stoney Creek. Growing up my sports of passion  were figure skating for over ten years and soccer.

My first CrossFit experience was really tough and afterwards brought me to the floor, that’s when it hit me, this sport is AWESOME!!! What really drew me to CrossFit is how different and challenging each workout is, its impossible to plateau. CrossFit made me realize how much I love lifting weights! What excites me the most about my job is having the opportunity to introduce and teach people functional full body movements that will help them not only in the gym but in everyday life. CrossFit truly is for everyone, I believe anyone can do it when the exercises are modified accordingly to each persons fitness level. My 66 year old dad comes to our gym three times a week. When my fiance Lee and I decided to open up our own CrossFit gym we both had the same goal in mind which is our commitment to improving peoples health through diet and exercise. We feel very privileged to be able to witness and take part in peoples life altering changes that happen in their lives. CrossFit is more than a fitness program it is a way of life that not only makes you stronger physically but builds character and helps you mentally. The most rewarding thing about being a coach is helping people reach their goals and guiding them into finding out that they can do more than they ever thought possible by tapping into their full potential. I am CrossFit Certified and have Agatsu Olympic Lifting and Power Lifting Certifications.
